Re: Duke and Duke's Mama

That being said... on his bad days, I feel so desperate and, I don't know if you can relate, but LONELY somehow. My dog is not human, so even though I think of him as my best friend, I know I shouldn't take it personally when he acts up, but I sometimes can't help it and I do feel lonely as if I lo...

Re: Not pooping, weird drool. Blockage? Stress?

Thanks Allison :).  It appears I jumped to worry too soon...  She just pooped!!!   I try not to be a total hypochondriac for her, but there's certain things that especially concern me... Blockage scares the heck out of me, so her lack of pooping made me jump to that.  She's ridiculously regular, so ...

Not pooping, weird drool. Blockage? Stress?

Debating whether Emma needs an E-vet, or if I can wait until morning.... Yesterday she had diarrhea all day, but has been eating & drinking normally.  A couple times right before I took her out to potty she had a long thick drool hanging from her mouth.  But that stopped when she got out and pot...

Good article on Anxiety/behavior Meds

I apologize if this has been shared before, but I didn't see it when I searched. I just stumbled on this article and found it very thorough and helpful in it's overview & explanation of the various behavior meds:

Re: Diarrhea & Lesions/Marks?

Lol, thanks HappyPuppy :) The vet said the red marks are just big bites, thankfully not ringworm! And not related to the poop issues. The poops were probably from drinking the river water, though she tested negative for giardia. But vet said it still could have initially been giardia or some parasit...

Diarrhea & Lesions/Marks?

Just wanted to put these pics up and see if anyone recognizes marks like this and what they may be. I searched the forum and found similar things like possibly Ringworm or fly bites, but because Emma's are in weird places and are different sizes, I wondered if anyone has an idea as to what they coul...

Hilarious! Great job with her, looks like it took some (fun) work, and paid off. She is fricking adorable, love when she bows her little head!

Re: PLEASE HELP...MAJOR ISSUES...need help ASAP

Went to the vet today...blood work was good, she got her vaccines she was due for and the doc prescribed her with some Clomiprimine ...25mg once a day for a week..then twice a day, then 3 times a day..then switch to 50mg once the first 42 pills are done...he also said to get some DAP stuff ASAP and...

Re: RUBY the Elderbull! Eastern WA

Update: ADOPTED (again!)! The shelter says Ruby was adopted to a GREAT family this time. They have a special needs son who Ruby adored, and Ruby will be the only pet as the family understands her need to be the one-and-only! Paws crossed this one sticks and Ruby now has the life she deserves!!

Re: Glucosamine in treats, enough for arthritis?!

They don't. And (someone correct if I'm wrong) but I *think* that brand of jerky is made overseas, and there have been numerous reports lately in regards to chicken jerky made overseas being a cause of death in many dogs. Yes, it is one of the Chinese made products.  He knows that, and that's why h...

Glucosamine in treats, enough for arthritis?!

Can anyone speak to the fact that treats like Happy Hips do not contain enough glucosamine to be of any benefit? I'm trying to convince someone that his very arthritic dog needs an actual glucosamine supplement;  he believes the few daily jerky treats he gives his dog are more than sufficient, becau...

Re: RUBY the Elderbull! Eastern WA

Huge sigh :(. Ruby is back at the shelter. Her new home was short-lived, as the people apparently had to move (not sure of any further details, but SUCKY either way). So poor Ruby, one of the BEST dogs I have ever met, is back in the kennels waiting to be adopted again. And to make matters worse, sh...

Re: Hyaluronic Acid-anyone use this?

I actually just bought some liquid Hyaluronic Acid today for my dad, who's been struggling with arthritis pain. I want to suggest that my boyfriend give it to his dog who is older and arthritic (he already gives him treats with glucosamine, but I've never felt that the treats really have a good cone...

Re: Can someone help explain this behavior?

Also, my dog has similar fear and stress issues and I've been working with a behaviorist who recommended I do the Relaxation Protocols (in addition to lots of other things we're working on).  It is an easy set of exercises to practice daily (5-10 minutes), that I find calming for both me and my dog....
