Re: Leaving a dog alone for 12+ hours

Is this once in a while or regularly? Will the dog have access like a kennel run with food/water/toys or just be in a bathroom? I think those should come into play. I get nervous leaving mine for more than 8 hours but if I had a proper set up I may be more comfortable with a once in a while thing. P...

Any experience with Nature's Domain dog food?

I use it as a back up feed, not amazing, not bad. IMO

Try Petflow.com or another similar website for home delivery dog food. It opens your options a lot for what you can get in your home town.

Also consider feeding less as opposed to different?

Re: Side effects from Rodent-digestion?

Should be alright, my rat terrier had trouble digesting a whole baby bunny once because of the fur but otherwise I've not heard of many issues. Just keep an eye on him and congratulate his mighty win.

Re: Raw For Training Treats?

I was thinking of this thread today at work. I watched a ring rental client run agility then sit down, put on a plastic glove, reach in her plastic baggy and feed her dog what appeared to be raw ground beef.

I guess you weren't the only one with this idea after all.

Re: Not Keeping Weight Off As Easily?

I just saw you're giving 6 hot dogs per training session? Maybe you should cut those up smaller? I cut mine into tiny, tiny cubes... that may help?

Re: Not Keeping Weight Off As Easily?

I hate feeding less than 2 cups to my dogs... I change food if I have to. My 7 and 13 year old pit bulls who are very inactive eat two cups a day, I can't imagine Dakota at his size and exercise level should be eating less than them. Then again I'm a total sucker, I'm big on food myself lol, I hate ...

Re: Crystals in Urine, food change recommendation

Canned food with water - goal is urine specific gravity 1.030. Recheck urine in 30 days to see if it works, if it doesn't, then you are likely stuck with a prescription diet for life. W/D is one option, but not my first choice. What kind of crystals were they? Struvite, oxolate? I'm not sure which ...

Crystals in Urine, food change recommendation

My parents rat terrier, Hannah, is now 11 (well, sept 9th). She's been staying with me this week and while here I decided to take her and her brother to the vet for senior check ups. They both looked great except Hannah has crystals in her urine. The vet said the good thing is the crystals are phosp...
