So what I did was I would put her collar on her and give her hot dogs afterword, then out side to play play for 10 minutes bring out the leash hook it up lots of hod dog...

Thanks for the Hope

My wife and I have been working since day one on having a calm cat/dog atmosphere. Right now I have a 30% success rate, I can reclaim eye contact most times and everything is OK. It is the times that I can not reclaim eye contact is when all Hell breaks loose. Luckily Sadie just rolls the cats and d...

What if

Continuing with Amhailte What if she starts pulling on the way to the park and you play stop and go the whole way. If she continues to pull you turn around and head back to the house. Letting getting to the park be the treat for walking nice. Just a thought - I understand what you mean with the anti...

I agree with Greddy Girl

Pretend that you dont care. He will figure out that the ball isnt fun without you and will eventually bring it over. When he does lots of treats and praise, and more of the game. Another thing you can do is have more than 1 toy and trade him. I just did taught Greddy this a few nights ago and he ca...

Have you read the sticky?

Have you read and re-read the sticky so you have a mouthy puppy? Now is a vital time to instill bite control and inhibition. You pup is exploring its whole world with its teeth and you need to let it know that humans have soft delecate skin that they need to use soft delicate mouths with. Slapping t...

I dont think its too much to ask for

I have the same expectations of Sadie during our walks I tell her when its oK to explore and gentel or nice for walking without pulling, its a work in progress for us still. Also too you may want to put taking a stick on que in terms of giving it a command. get the stick - leave it - drop it. That w...

I have found that I can stand up tell her NO go to your spot and put her in time out for 5 minutes. She goes with tail down head slung low etc... much more effective then me trying to physicall...

Have you elevated the dog bowls?

Annika have you elevated the dog bowls? After I switched Sadie to Kirkland her farts went way down, but still existed. I had a friend tell me to elevate the dog bowls it slows them down and doesnt allow as much air in. I now elevate the dog bowl, add baby carrots and Sadie is down to one or two fart...

At 4 months an hour may be a little long.

One hour of continous play may be a little long at 4 months. I would think a quick burst of 15 -20minutes play is sufficient, typically followed by an hour nap HAR! At 4 months I tried to keep the play focused around play and simple training so trainning = play. Most of the time 15-20 minutes and I ...

How old is he? He looks young in your avatar. He does sound like a mouthy, bratty youngster.....but that's normal! It just has to be addressed. Piper is 15 months old and we're STILL working on her mouthiness. She does it out of affection, and you can tell she just nibbles on you because she has no...

One more little thing

Elevate the food bowl, it slows the dog down so they are not taking in as much air.
