Welcome, great intro!
I think your black and white pup is mixed with shar pei! Look at the folds of skin above his tail, and on his sides. also, I don't think he has mange, otherwise the other dog would have it, but shar peis are very prone to skin conditions, so if that patchy fur hasn't cleared up I would take him for a vet visit ASAP! Enjoy the forum, feel free to ask questions, everyone here is nice and genuinely cares about the other members dogs :)

Welcome!! Adorable pups!

Maybe a thyroid issue? If you look at the last pic it almost looks like the whole body is missing hair.

Actually demodex isn't spread between dogs, it's the product of a poor or stressed immune system
Welcome to PBF! Your dogs are cute. I do wonder about the black and white pup's coat, too, though?

You might give this stuff a try: http://www.nustock.com/

Also have you had bloodwork run on the pup? Check for thyroid levels...

 I was sure mange was easily spread to other pets.

I would get a second opinion from another veterinarian, if your dog does have a skin condition the shampoo may irritate it further. Frequent bathing isn't a good thing, it strips the dogs coat of its natural oils and can irritate the skin. How recent is the pic that you posted of your dog?

Sorry for the double post. I forgot to tell you to check out the Events section. We're trying to arrange an Illinois PBF member meet-up. Maybe you could join us!

Since the skin scrape came back negative, it is likely either 1.) A severe allergy/dermatitis or 2.) A thyroid issue.

Has your pup had any bloodwork run lately?

Wow..Barack really reminds me of tylers mom.

Barack may have severe alergies as some one else posted. My pup (tyler) has the same hair loss, just on her back legs, and the vet said it's allergies after he did some skin scrapes and now ty is one some oral medication. Her vet told me that allergies run strong around this time of the year. How long has Baracks coat been like this?
