Hello Everyone!

Postby VC_Reno » Tue Nov 18, 2008 7:58 pm

I've been looking through this forum for a day or so now and I finally decided to join. My boyfriend, Cesar (26), and I, Valarie (21), just bought a pit bull puppy about three weeks ago. His name is Reno and he's a blue brindle fawn. We both absolutely adore him and he's the best choice we could have made for a puppy! He has an outstanding personality and he's gorgeous! We bought him from a breeder and the breeder was great. He was/still is very helpful and he takes great care of his dogs. He knows what he's doing and he's very professional about things. Anyway, back to Reno. He was born on August 12, 2008 and has seven brothers and sisters. We were going to get his ears cropped but sadly, his "twin" brother Capone (RIP) died soon after getting his ears cropped. Since the death of Capone, we have decided not to crop his ears. He's too dear to us and we'd rather have him then risk his life for cropped ears. Plus, his ears are kind of cute! :) Plus, he won't look soo mean when he gets older (he's going to be a big boy). Reno is great with other dogs (although a lot of them have growled at him; he still tries to play) and loves people. We can't walk through a store without someone stopping to pet Reno or Reno stopped to beg for a pat on the head.

I've been in love with pit bulls for as long as I can remember. They, by far, are my favorite breed. I'm so sick of hearing that pit bulls are these vicious animals who can't be trusted. People like that, in my opinion, are ignorant and should learn the facts before they open their mouths. Pit bulls are one of the most abused animals out there. And even after they're abused, if given a second chance, they still give all their love. Its truly amazing to me how these animals quickly forgive, forget, and love hard. I know because I convinced my aunt to adopt a pit bull after her lab mix (Lady) died. Casey was found as a puppy left on a street corner for dead. When I went with my aunt to the shelter Casey was 4 y/o. 4 years of her life was spent in a cage. She was so happy to be taken out so we could meet her. I fell in love with her as soon as they brought her out. I told my aunt she's the one for you, you have to take her. My aunt was a little unsure because Casey was a pit bull. I told her to give her a chance and don't be like those other people and judge before you even get to know the dog. She took her home. Casey is now 8 y/o and healthy as can be (even though she's a little overweight now lol). And my aunt loves pit bulls.

I'm looking forward to learning more and more about pit bulls from this site. If I have any questions, I'll be sure to come here because everyone here seems to be very educated when it comes to the breed.

Heres Reno:

Oops I was using a html code. Anywho, here's another picture of my baby:

Image

I'll post more pictures when I get home cause I'm in school right now and this is the only picture I have uploaded on photobucket. The only thing I hate about pictures is that you can't see the color of his eyes. Around the pupil its gray then around that its fawn then around that its blue/green. You can see the fawn but nothing else. Oh well. 8)
