Maltese Mom accpeting Pit bull puppy!!!

Postby shadow » Thu Jan 15, 2009 2:36 am

Today is day 5 since we got this puppy (Can I say my pit bull pup?). We named him "RAZOR".

He's still recovering. Diarrhea is slightly better and he coughs only when we wake him from sleep.

Initially my other 2 female Maltese (mother & daughter) won't let him near by them. We were surprised to see them last day, both of them accepting him. The young maltese started playing with her. And my 3 year old Maltese mom now accepts him. She let him sleep nearby as her babby sleeps. I couldn't resist taking a picture of it. So I'm sharing some of it here.

Pleased to meet you.

Do they ever fight? Some of my friends told me that when the pit bull is big you'll see both your maltese dead one day. Because pit bull's behaviour can change any time. Is it true? I have 2 bunnies too at home.

Bunnies are fine with my 2 maltese. We've trained our maltese to ignore them. So my bunnies climb up on top of them and they ignore them. Now I'm worried about this new pup.

Yesterday I left one bunny with this pit bull pup to get used to them. He tried to snap it's ears. But nothing happened.

Can I train a pit bull to ignore my bunnies?

It just depends on the dog. Pit bulls can become DA when they grow up.

We have 6 dachshunds and a pug and Mya(American Bully) gets along great with them. She is very gentle and her and then pug are best friends.
