New Here

Postby WeLoveOur7Dogs » Wed Jul 06, 2011 8:42 am

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Moni and my pack consists of me, my boyfriend Ben and our 7 dogs. We have 5 Great Danes, a rottweiler and a pitbull. Mainly we compete in conformation with our two youngest male danes but we also do alot of rescue work as well - that's how we got our pitbull. We took in a pregnant pit who gave birth to 11 pups. ALL 11 went to new homes on a spay/neuter contract (that was followed up on) and not one of them didn't adhere to the contract.
Thanks for having us!

Holy cow! That first one is HUGE!! Is the tanish colored one a mix? What are their ages? I've always loved Danes and maybe someday I'll have one...but I'm afraid because I hear they typically live less than 10 years. I'm too much of a softy for that kind of heartbreak.

Thanks for your reply! The fawn dane (she' mantle marked) is a purebred dane, she is an example of "poorly bred", like what you could expect from a newspaper ad. The BIG boy at the end is our show boy, as is the blue baby boy, although he hasnt been shown yet. He just turned 6 months on the 4th. No dog lives long enough and it sucks losing them every time, but if you buy a pup from a reputable breeder who shows and health tests you can expect at least 10 years, maybe even 12. It all starts with good genetics.

Unfortunately being a part of the PB community I know all about poorly bred dogs.

Well, :welcome: and thank you for clearly loving dogs :))

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's nice to be here. I realize that the PB community (more than most) understands how poor breeding can ruin a breed one litter at a time. I'm relieved to read that the majority here seem to be on the same page as far as responsible breeding goes. It's nice to be among like minded people!

It's a manual process, Moni. Sometimes there's a bit of a delay; but it helps us keep down the riffraff ratio.

Gorgeous dogs! Thanks for rescuing!
