Such a sweetheart. He seems to be a little underweight and looks to have been on his own for a while, yet has a very calm demeanor and is still very enthusiastic and charismatic. Surprisingly responds well to "sit" too which is a good sign IMO. That being said can you all verify if this is a Pit, or is it just a look-a-like? I made him a nice shelter in our backyard to help keep the gnarly cold New Mexico winds from beating him anymore than it has already. Shakes his tail happily when you walk to him and rolls on his back for you to scratch his stomach. Isn't food aggressive either.
Not yet. Going to take him to a vet tomorrow to get screened and get shots. That way if he's vaccinated at least it'll make him more attractive to potential adopters. I wish I could take him in but they are banned in military housing.
