Hearts For Paws Rescue

Postby heartsforpawsrescue » Tue Nov 08, 2016 5:07 pm

Hi Pit Advocate Community!

We are Hearts For Paws, a brand new 501c3 Animal Rescue in Davis CA. We pull animals from high kill shelters and provide them with a safe sanctuary while they wait for their forever families to come find them. We have cats, sheep, horses, and dogs to name a few. Our network is teeny right now and we are looking to expand with fosters, adopters and advocates for our cause.

We currently have a 2 yr old Pit Mix up for adoption. Diesel is neutered, vetted, and ready for his big adventure home!Diesel was found as a dumped stray in January of this year. He's sat in a kennel for almost 11 months. That's 23 hours 45 min a day for 300+ days. That's a long time. Diesel landed on the unadoptable side of the shelter as no one was interested.

Diesel loves toys, giving kisses, and cuddling. Diesel is crate trained(!!!) and well-practiced on leash.

He has learned and improved everyday with us on the farm! He loves people. Gets along well with small dogs/female dogs both on and off-leash, but has showed aggression towards our large males. We put a muzzle on Diesel (which he is fine with. Muzzle to him is associated with playtime, off-leash fun and peanut butter!) With a muzzle Diesel is safe to hang with the pack. He is easily redirected. Has shown mouthiness but that is going away as he decompresses here.

The ideal home for Diesel would be a confident, dog-experienced owner(s). He really needs a home environment as he is one of 20 animals right now, and has never had a home, person of his own, or anyone to give him the one on one attention he needs!

We are looking for a Foster (Min 2 weeks), Foster-to-Adopt, or Adoption for Diesel!
