poor lil guy has sarcoptic mange. we have started him on his first treatments (revolution), some antibotics and got his first shot. the vet believes he is barely six weeks old. he eats very well but is in a lot of discomfort at night with his mange. i am covered with scabies myself from holding him .. i didnt know any better. but my bites pale in comparison to what this little guy is going through.

i was going to start a thread with the images, once i was granted access to the whole site, to ask if anyone might want to take a stab at his mix.

we saw his mother abandon him in our neighbors backyard. she was living in the wild. she is a mix pit. the dad is anyones guess. there are alot of dogs around here. we are curious what anyone here might think. we also are curious on how big he will get.

the irony of this whole ordeal is the fact that we were looking to add a puppy to our home and had been to the spca several times. we adopted larry from there two years ago. then on monday a lil pup fell into our lap.

well .. ummm .. we are going to stay with our trailer park theme =] haha .. im in texas so those are all 'proper' names you see. heh. im calling him tiny right now. but hank, jeb, jethro. not sure yet .. any ideas? larry had actually been named that on his tag at the spca and it fit him soooooo well .. we just kept it.

Ohhhh, he is so cute! Poor little guy, I hope he gets well soon! and bless your heart for taking him in - he'll have Larry and Rita in fits, pretty soon, as puppies always do lol

I'm going to guess Shar-Pei, with all those wrinkles, or bloodhound - ? But he is still so young and when he is older those bones and skin will lengthen out a bit.

As far as names - in keeping, he really should have two names, like Billy Bob or Bobby Ray or Jimmie John or somethin', but I don't think he's big enough for a handle like that, yet :))

Oh, yeah - :welcome:

Hi Marina! We have a pitbull mix as well that is 7 years old and he is a great dog! Of course we also have seven pits and a shaggy dog of unknown origin....a street doggie that my daughter and son-in-law adopted with their big over-sized hearts. I know your mix will be a great addition to your family!

Welcome!

hi kate .. we actually thought that too .. but the vet said a lot of the wrinkles are attributed to his mange =/
