I'm a lurker here. Well, I actually created an account some months back, but didn't remember my username/password. I usually read more than I posted, so I was too lazy to create a new account, until now.
I never like dogs, so it was a shock that my first dog was a big, muscular brindle pitbull. My exgirlfriend was a big dog person, and she decided to adopt a puppy pitbull. I fell in love with this dog...so much that my ex complained that i'd rather be with him than with her; which is partially true.
Being a first time dog-owner, I did alot of research on the breed; from reading 'pitbulls for dummies' to Diane Jessup's 'working pitbull', to the various rescue website like pbrc.net, and badrap.org. After understanding the history, myth, and temperament of the breed, I couldn't believe the stereotype and misconception these dogs had to go through.
To cut the story short, the pitbull will always be my first choice.
