Hello from Michigan :)

Postby WonderBull » Sat Apr 01, 2006 10:34 pm

Hello all!

My name is Diana, and I am the Pit Bull Education Coordinator for an all-breed dog rescue. Because of a lack of pit bull foster homes, we concentrate on educating the public about pit bulls and responsible pit bull ownership.

We truly believe that we will never put a dent in the homeless pit bull situation without education, education, education! We have a wonderful educational table with free literature that we bring to adoption events several times throughout the year.

We also help other shelters and rescues pre-screen applications for their adoptable pit bulls by placing their pit bulls up on our website to help get them adopted. Most of the pit bulls on our site are located in different cities throughout all of Michigan.

It all started for me about 4 yrs ago, when two stray pit pups found me. They are still with me to this day (foster failures #1 and #2).

Meet the "Wonder Twins, Maddie (on the right) and Alfred (on the left):

And this is Sydney, our sweet black brindle girl, another rescued pittie and foster failure #3 (needless to say, I don't foster anymore <grin>):

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

That's so funny, I never meet any other Diana's, but I know plenty of Diane's.

ShadowWolf, afraid I can't make the Belleville show on the 8th. We will be having an Adoption and Education event at the Eastpointe Petco that day from noon until 5pm.

If anyone is interested in checking out our educational table, please stop by and see us at Eastpointe Petco!

Thanks again! Here's more pix of my pitties, and my former foster boy, Brad. Believe it or not, it took two years to find his perfect forever home. It's been a year since he was adopted, and we still visit him and his new family, he's doing wonderful and is very spoiled.

Hope to see you and Zeke on Saturday!

Hi Allie!
Yes, I know Gwen. Was our conversation about advice or a dog in need? It's so funny, my world gets smaller and smaller. Especially when it comes to the pits. Thanks for the welcome!

lol Small state.

I had called for advice about a dog in need, actually. A while back-- must have been last summer-- my bf and I pulled a pup from an abusive home. My sister and her husband fell in love with her and adopted her. She's doing so well!

Anyways, I look forward to seeing you post around the forum, and of course, more photos!
