Hi everybody!!

Postby franky_402 » Sun Mar 09, 2008 1:55 am

Hello everybody, me and my cousin just purchased a pitbull. She was born on 11-28-07. She is a blue/brindle mix and is beautiul. We got her on friday and the family owned pet shop we purchased her from gave us a 3 day gurantee so saturday we took her to the vet for her free check up and found out she has pneamonia as is being hospitalized for 5-7 days!!! I fell in love with her when i seen her at the store. The store wanted 269.00 and we thought about it and went back with all we could get 200. Since this family owned/operated pet store has known our family since our parents were very young she gave in and we left with our new puppy. She has 3 of her shots and we are sure we got a pretty good deal. The pictures posted are from camera phones so they are not of good quality. Also the one picture she is laying with my aunts pit bull/mastiff mix and they get along great!!!

Welcome! Since I'm too blunt I'll keep my mouth shut about where you bought your dog. I'll just say hi and hope someone else says what I'm thinking since I can't say it in a politically correct way.

How old is she now? The general rule is that you can about double their weight at four months, and that will be their adult weight.

angel is almost 4 months and the white dog bella is 6 or 7 months!! as from the pic you can see the size comparison. Although bella is probably larger due to the fact she is part bull mastiff

no edits??

forgot to add that angel weighs probably about 8 pounds maybe. She is very small and petite. She is about the same size as a 5 month old chiauwa or however you spell it

Welcome! :) You will find lots of great info here. I'm not sure if you know this, but many purebred pitbulls can be found in shelters, humane societies, and rescue groups, for a nominal adoption fee. Also, many are re-homed for free, just check your local newspaper and craigslist. Sadly, many wonderful, sweet dogs are euthanized everyday because someone thought they were getting a "great deal" from a pet shop.

I really hope your Angel gets better soon

welcome to the forum.

are you sure shes a full blooded APBT ? 8 pounds at 4 months seem really small to me . did the vet verify how old she is? my pups weighed 8 pounds at 6 weeks . i also hope the store wormed your baby and that they are taking care of the expenses of her illness .

good luck with her i hope she gets to feeling better

With all the Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes waiting in shelters for homes, and all those that will never find homes, I hope you rethink on breeding her.

From the way she looks and from your size description, to me I cannot see Pit Bull in her at all. She is cute, regardless.

To warn you, this forum will only support ethical breeding(that is titling dogs and henetic health screening prior to breeding).

Hope you stick around to learn more. Best of luck. ;)
