If you don't mind spending a little money I got a coat for my IG from this place. Yes it is geared towards sighthounds but they are custom made coats and can work for any breed.

Dixie will also get one when she gets to full size. They are made really well and keep them nice and warm.

We've gotten ours from petsmart and they are warm and practical, but never last longer than one winter.

I bought a set from pet edge last year but grossly overestimated my dogs length and they would fit a small horse (moral of the story kids, measure your dogs.)

This is the lady who made Taffy's custom fleece coat: http://www.nevicraft.com/

It's got a zipper on the back instead of the chest, makes it easier to get it on the dog, and no snow/ice can build up or freeze onto the zipper. Keeps her chest and armpits warm too. I don't like coats that are secured via Velcro on the bottom. You can ask for longer or shorter "sleeves" too. If you can use a fabric tape measure, she can customize pretty much anything you want in the design.

That looks nice! Fido Fleece coats are okay, except for the velcro aspect, that one looks much better.

My friends made coats for their dogs when we went skiing but later bought some from http://www.k9topcoat.com/

They are very happy with them.

Peanut has a few fleece pullovers and a raincoat w some kind of batting in it - all from PetSmart on sale.

She actually has only worn the raincoat once (It was 5$) because honestly, we don't get snow that sticks and since we've been in the drought we hardly even get rain. Her fleece pullovers are for winter IN the house since when she is out she is zooming and we keep the house kinda cool.

Found THE coolest coats EVER! I don't need any this year but I'm definitely keeping my eye out for these to go on sale for next year:
