Best water toy?

Postby Shutterwolf » Fri Apr 13, 2012 7:21 pm

What i wanna know, is basicly whats the best water toy available for playing fetch in the ocean?

Gonna be going to Carmel dog beach in may with my girl, and i want to get a good toy for her to play fetch with in the water. I used a tennis ball the last time, but i wanna try something better this year.

What do you reccomend? I want to spend 20 dollars or less preferably.

The bumpers seem to be a popular choice with the golden retriever crowd, but i figured i would see what you guys recommend as well. Found some cheap bumper toys, but not sure how durable they are for a dog that likes to chew her toy before i can get it from her.

I love the Kong On A Rope...it floats and it's got the rope for increased throw-a-bility!

x2 on jolly balls. You can get the kind that's rubbery and bite-able instead of the super hard plastic kind, punch a hole in it so the dog can bite down instead of having to always target the handle, and have tons of fun. The weight of the toy makes throwing it further much easier.

They make Wubbas for the water but I find that the regular Wubbas do just fine. :)

Check out Tractor Supply Company for the bumper. They have the bright orange, tough material ones for hunting dogs.
