Collar mania, Stillwater, the collar shop, Ella's lead, blocky dog, and paco collars are probably some of the favorites of the forum. I wouldn't get anything too expensive since your pup is still growing. I've been really happy with the vinyl collars I got from Collarmania a few months ago, they look really nice and are holding up very well. Austin has really sensitive skin but he hasn't had any trouble with it chafing his neck.

Oh, and don't get collars with plastic buckles, stick with metal hardware. Plastic buckles just aren't sturdy enough.

For a pup, you might want to just get a 2 ply nylon buckle collar from your local pet store as pups will out grow their collars pretty quickly.

There are some nice 2 ply leather collars on ebay too so that is a good place to look for other collars --

I don't mind your posting the link to your business here, but it's a bit off when you're not clear that it's your own business. Please be honest and open about your link to any businesses you promote here. Thanks.

Anyone know where I can get a collar like this one? Not the pronged collar of course...but the other...I haven't been able to find one quite like it. I don't really want a leather collar...this one looks like it would be a little stronger...

Blocky Dogs or Stillwater will have collars like that.

Although thinking nylon is stronger than leather is pretty hilarious.

Paco collars makes the best leather collars out there and are sturdier than any nylon I've ever had!

Thanks for the advice. My concern is the integrity of where the leather buckles. Like leather belts that are buckled in the same place every day...they tend to grow week and wear out. I'm not speaking with any actual knowledge of leather collars...just what I've experienced with my own belts. I have always owned smaller dogs that don't pose a threat to breaking anything...so I'm a little bit of a noob! lol

Leather collars are made out of much sturdier and thicker material than belts, at least good quality ones are. I find leather much sturdier than any nylon- Riddle annihilates nylon collars, but her leather ones hold up very well. Her Ella's Lead collars still look new years old.

If you order a leather collar from Stillwater, that collar will outlive you no matter what you do to it. I promise. lol
