Look what Luce got!

First place in Novice A for her first AKC CD leg. Her score was 185 1/2. She was the only dog who didn't get up and walk away during the down stay, so they let her have the blue ribbon.

She was SUCH a good girl. I was sooooo nervous. We haven't done any Stand for Exams with not-me since May. She hasn't done any group stays since March. I felt so unprepared and I've been so freaking busy with work that I did hardly anything to get ready.

She was super super happy. Super super forgey for all the heeling and all up in my dance space during the inside curve of the Figure 8 but her Stand for Exam was solid, she didn't even fidget during the group stays, her recall was splendid (and straight!) and she was tail-wagging and strutting and grinning.

She's such a crowd-pleaser even if she isn't entirely accurate ;)

I am so proud of her.

WhoooHoo!
I think happy and less than precise is far superior to flat and moving like a machine.

i agree. although i wish i could have had happy AND precise.

she's a fun dog to work and i'm told she's a fun dog to watch... though that could be because one is never quite sure what's going to happen.

Fantastic work Luce! That is amazing! Congrats on the CD leg! I remember when you weren't sure if Luce would ever be able to trial back in the day (I used to be in all the LJ dog communities. :hi), and to see how far she's come!!! She looks so good in blue :inlove:.
