Tracking, Trailing or nosework help

Postby guile » Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:24 am

Hi all,

First im a little confused with the diferences from above, so i better say what im looking for and u point me the right direction.
I would like to teach shakira, to follow/ find a scent i present to her, like sar do i think i dont care if she use both air and ground, i dont look for any competitions or real sar just for fun.
I would appreciate any help on how to get started because im from brazil and we dont have these classes here, i read here a lot about the grass trampled, and some about the hitt, the hitt looks great cause u can do it anywhere like pavement, the find which box is the food applies together or another thing? ok im a lot confused maybe i read too much lol.

tks in advance

I always forget to visit this forum grouping...

Here are links to the topic that have already been posted here on PBF. There are more here but I didn't search very hard (I also didn't read through the threads, so I'm not 1005 sure how relevant they are). You can also check on Youtube for instructional videos.

Here is a good explanation of tracking vs trailing from my SAR groups website
http://gpsdogs.org/Tracking.html

Btw that pic is of me and K9 Eve my pittie that did tracking and trailing. We now do human remains detection work
