Yeah sucks. I dropped him off this morning and pick him up at 4.30 . Hopefully his ear heals per normal, but i'm not betting on it.
The vet suggested I do allergy testing soon after as well, so we can nip his ear infections in the bud. Unfortunately thats an expensive process. Not only do you have to pay to get the test, you have to pay for the allergy shots if he needs them. ugh.
I may have to look into pet insurance.

Aww, hope Rod (and wallet) recover quickly!

Know well how much that sucks... Paws and finers crossed!

thank you all. I got a call from the vet and his surgery went well. I pick him up in a hour and a half. I'll let you know how he's doing. $700 later. ouch

I am glad he is ok.

I am sure you already know but pet insurance won't cover any pre-existing conditions. However it is a good thing to have with an already expensive dog (I had one too and feel for you and your wallet) as one certainly doesn't need to worry about other things on top of it. Also there is often a deal for more than one dog.
