No need to crop a pet dog. My own dog has huge Dumbo ears, and it makes him ever so much cuter. ;)

Dogs use their ears to communicate with other dogs. Plus it just makes your dog look scarier to the general public.

I say: if pit bulls were meant to have small upright ears, they'd be bred that way. ;)

I tried to tell you that dog needed his ears cropped! roflmao

Only speaking for myself, I love the way cropped ears look - however, both of my guys have natural ears. I don't think I would get their ears cropped for anything other than a medical necessity at this point in their lives.

Although sometimes I do wonder about my pittie - he gets a little weird about his ear flaps sometimes. He doesn't like it when they're touched and cries out if someone tugs on them, and hasn't ever since he came to live with me. I've examined them closely, and they don't seem to have anything wrong with them, but I do plan on taking him to the vet anyways.

I prefer the look of cropped ears. All my APBTs are cropped as well as my Doberman. I just think it gives them a cleaner look! I will continue to waste my money  There is no way these ears could've stayed, lol...

That's kinda how I feel... If I had had the choice, all my dogs would be cropped-- but since I live in a small isolated town with no vets willing to do the procedure, I have natural.

I, too, feel like these ears shouldn't have stayed:

And this set of ears needs to go too:

But do I hate my dogs ears? Certainly not, but I would have preferred cropped.

My preference is for natural, but I can appreciate a well done crop. The problem with that is though is that IMO they are getting to be very few and far between.

The vet schools have stopped teaching how to perform a crop. I doubt there will ever be a national ban on cropping but you won't be able to get one anyway because the vets either won''t agree to perform one or won't know how.

i like the look of cropped ears, however its illegal over here so ill never have a dog with cropped ears. i cant stand full drop or full prick ears though, so for me it has to be half prick or rose ears, preferably rose..

I prefer a well done crop. Not very short like a "battle crop", but not the longer crop. Somewhere right in the middle. My personal dog was not cropped, as he was a rescue and is just a pet.

In the future if I get a dog to compete be it weight pull, show etc from a breeder I'll more then likely start research to see who does the best crops in my area.

Bizzo, if this is for Molly, forgive me for lobbying you to keep her ears intact! She's soooooooo cute with her little ears! You've got a good thing there, don't mess it up!
