and i think rubys scratching is either from habit, or she really has environmental allergies as well. her heska report tested 0 for everything except the below, they were the only items with actual numbers on them instead of a 0:

yellow dock 13
english plaintain 9
mugwort 5
cocklebur 5
perennial rye grass 4
meadow fescue 3
penicillium notaturn/chrysogenum 20
fusarium roseum 5
cladosporium sphaerospermum 3
T putrescentiae 128
D. farinae 61
D pteronyssinus 18
cat epithelium 4

of course i dont. and to top it off rufus has had an ear infection in his right ear for the past few days... obviously i am being tested by someone for whatever reason, and so far i still have my sanity.... at least with jesse the canned food is working out pretty good for her ears... they are not red or gunky or black , she is still on the ketaconzonole and xenidine ear drops .
now if i can just get ruby under control.... that is my next goal.. with rufus, he has had reoccuring ear inflammation since putting him back on kibble, so i might do just raw for him, as he only eats just about a lb a day, and i can afford $30 a month on raw for one dog, i just cant afford $140 per month for 3... so with jesse on canned i can do can/raw with her, which will save, i can do 30lbs a month for jesse and she can get canned and raw, which will be another $30 so that is around $60 for those 2, give or take, and once i get ruby settled i might be able to swing something, but ruby CANT have raw as her kidneys dont function properly on raw, so she has to stay on canned.. jesse cant have kibble at all as her allergy storage mite is at 3000, which the vet said she never saw one that high before. so she must be on either canned or raw/can combo.

ruby CANT be on raw, so she must be on canned, since her storage mite reading is 128 and anything over 100 is an allergy, so to be safe i dont want to make her worse so canned it is for her..

rufus, hell he was the healthiest dog i had until i went back to kibble on the DVP ever since then he gets his one ear inflamed every few weeks, so i will have to go to raw for him, as he is on canned now and its still inflamed.

i figure i am just in a rough patch (lol for the past 2 1/2 years ) and eventually it should get better...

nature's logic is another one that has grain-free chicken-free canned. they have lamb, venison, and duck & salmon.

Would the Evo 95% flavors work? Those say they are balanced.. Don't know about price though.

natures logic all the flavors have Egg product in them, whether dried egg or egg, so ruby cant have that, but jesse can

i need to keep the price per can under 1.69 so far the cans are working really good with jesse's ears, and while ruby is still itching on the cans its not as bad as before. the evo would work for both dogs since there is no grains and no eggs, but the price is almost $2 per can, so that wont work..

You do raw food dont you ME? Why not making your own "canned food"
just toss everything into a blender or food processor? Then you can either freeze into portions or vacuum seal it?
I do something like that for my ferrets, though it is just a suppliment, im sure you could add everything in they need.

i just saw that ruby cant have raw? you can always cook the meat before blending, thats what I do for my ferts, I boil the chicken (or w/e meat you want to use) and use the broth to make the consistency right after i blend it.

I've been getting the Before Grain (buffalo, tripe, beef, turkey - there is also salmon and chicken). Evangers gave my Ruby wicked gas (I think) but the Before Grain is great - esp the tripe. Just water and meat. They are like $1.79 per can tho... :(
