Thanks guys !!! 8)

I just got back from the Vet. I had to leave both Rowdy and Sugar with them because the doctor wasn't in at the moment.

Both are due for their yearly's and I didn't have an appointment, so as a walkin and wanting to get Sugar's leg checked out as soon as possible, I had to leave them. The Vet's office staff will call me later this afternoon when I can go pick them up.

It is the first time in a year they have not been home with me. The silence is deafening. I don't like it at all.

I walked outside for a while and as soon as I walked back in the house and into the kitchen, my first reaction was to reach for their "cookie" jar. Rowdy and Sugar always get a little treat when we come back into the house ... but they aren't here ... they just have me trained so well I guess. lol

Anyway, I'll post again here this afternoon when hopefully I know something about Sugar's leg. Thank You ALL so Very Much for my Sugar "baby's" well wishes !!!

Sugar and Rowdy are still Heartworm Negative (never have been positive) !!! WOooHOoo !!! ... big concern here in the South. The Pfizer Revolution multi-spectrum agent I use is working 8)

I did not speak with the Vet, but she said that the lump on Sugar's leg is a tumor and should be removed as soon as possible because of the exact reasons Misskiwi67 stated on page one. The size of the tumor is a concern in the area of the leg because there isn't an abundance of skin on the leg to use to close the surgery.

Sugar will have surgery tomorrow morning to remove the lump. That means no food or water after 9 p.m. tonight and I will drop her off at the Vet between 8 and 8:30 tomorrow morning.

I'm thinking that I should ask to have a biopsy done on the tumor to see if it is cancerous. Thoughts ??

Oh I'm so glad you took her right away. I would probably have a biopsy done. I will be praying that all goes well and that it is benign.

I would have the biopsy done, I hate not knowing things. Good thoughts to your Sugar baby.

Yes, I would. If there is a chance it's cancerous finding out sooner than later is key to treatment options. Take it from someone who had no idea, and by the time a reoccurring lump was biopsied it was too late. Good thoughts to you and Sugar, wishing for the best results.
