Go for the biopsy...if it's cancer, you'll know how to proceed, if it's negative...well, peace of mind is priceless.
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow :pray

have it sent in for histopathology... even if it comes back totally benign, you have the peace of mind of knowing its GONE!!!

Will be sending Sugar good thoughts for her surgery.

Thanks Nickdawg !!!

I just got home from dropping Sugar off at the Vet. They said I could pick her up about 3:30 or 4 this afternoon. They will call me. She really didn't want me to leave her there again and was pulling from the assistant as hard as she could to go with me when I left, but I know she is in good hands of course.

Rowdy is confused about what is going on. He's gone around the house a couple of times looking for his buddy. We've been outside twice already so he can search the yard, then the house, then the yard again.

Thank you all for the well wishes !!!

Oh what a tough day for you two men!
I will keep you all in my prayers today. :pray

I remember when I got Lily (rescue) and she had to go get spayed. They put her in a small kennel at the vet and she looked so pathetic and was crying. It was all I could do to leave. Well then I get the call later in the day that after they opened her up they realized she was already spayed! I hauled butt over there to get her and I couldn't have felt worse that she had to go through the cone and healing all for nothing...like you said we do what is BEST for them.

Just think how happy Sugar will be to see you later today!

Sending good wishes! Hope everything goes well!

I'm now second guessing my vet and wondering if I should take Monty elsewhere for a second opion. He has a growth like that on that flap of skin where his back right leg meets his belly area...pretty good sized. Vet kept looking at it, just said to keep an eye on it :(

Not to be a nervous nelly like Capone, but get it checked. We just waited a little while for Jasmine's and I'm not happy about the results. I'm never listening to my checkbook again. Just go, get it taken care of. Sugar looks as sweet as sugar!

I picked Sugar up late this afternoon following surgery. She has antibiotics and pain medicine for the next several days. The bandages come off in two days and I was told I don't need to keep anything topical on the site. The stitches/staples (whatever is in there) come out in 2 weeks. The lab results on the tissue should be back in 7-10 days and I am keeping my fingers crossed about that.

Sugar has been totally whacked out zoning. She is pretty much out of it LOL. She did eat normally though. I have spent a good deal of time trying to keep Rowdy off her. Not only is he glad to see his buddy back home, but as someone told me in PM, she may smell a little different too for a short while.

Sugar was fitted with a cone and I was told it had to be on for the entire 2 weeks before the stitches come out, but I have taken it off already. Sugar has paid NO attention whatsoever to the surgery site and bandages and I will keep a VERY close eye on her to see if I need to put the cone back on or not. Sugar was spayed at 7 months and I NEVER had to use a cone at all then, so I'm hoping she will be okay without it. I don't think she likes it too much and I would hate to have to make her wear it, but will of course if need be.

Thanks guys !!!

Jim, still thinking and praying for Sugar.

As for wearing a cone, poor Logan had to wear one when he got into a fight with Molly. He kept bumping into walls and was crying so I took it off and closely monitored him so he didn't bother the stitches in his ear. I think they make cones that are fabric so they are more comfortable to wear.
