Thanks, guys. :))

I just have a hard time believing this is cancer. Now, I am ignorant to cancer, and how it rears its ugly head, but swelling like that overnight?
I just don't see how that is possible.

I'm hoping maybe she got bit by something that she is reacting to. Or maybe even stung by something that she is reacting to.

It was pretty much overnight for Tanner. We were very conscious of his lymph nodes due to his health issues. But like I said previously, it was more than one node that was swollen. Stick with your gut feeling. Both times my dogs were diagnosed with cancer, I had a pretty good idea that's what it was before we went to the vet.

OH! and NO Tanner's swollen nodes weren't like that overnight. They were swollen enough to know there was something wrong, but they weren't that size until months after he was diagnosed. I, like you, tend to think if it's just one node and it's that huge, there's some sort of localized infection or irritation.

You may be able to hear by Fri. That would be nice so you dont have to worry all flippin weekend.

Whatever it is, you will deal with it and Ella will be Ella and show everyone how tough she is.

Hang in there, waiting really sucks.

It's NOT cancer.

Ben got the call from the vet this afternoon as I was in the shower.
Her white blood count couldn't be more normal he said, he's slightly baffled at the swelling, and he's thinking that it might be...dun, dun, dun! a bug bite(s).

But, regardless, he's putting her on prednisone claiming that Benedryl will bring down the swelling, but at a MUCH slower rate, and that prednisone should kick the swelling down way faster.

My father-in-law is picking up the prednisone for us (he lives closer to our vet), and he'll get the reports.
We'll take Ella back early next week for a re-check, and if the swelling hasn't gone down by then, we'll have to probably keep doing tests.

But he said as of right now there is NO sign of cancer AT ALL.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nana:
Now, I think I am going to go lay down with Ella after I eat something, and get some much needed rest.
Thank you to everyone who sent prayers and crossed fingers and paws Ella's way. :peace:
