you might want to search for and bump one of the egg discussions we've had previously!

There has been discussions, both for and against eggs.

Personally, I give Maybelle eggs. I give her one raw egg a week.

There are risks: do a search for salmonella.
And then do searches for "biotin" and "avidin" and draw your own conclusions. Just because a bunch of people on a forum advocate feeding something, it may not make it the right decision for your dogs if you don't understand it or don't know all of the risk factors.

That being said, I give my dog an entire raw egg, with the shell crushed up and mixed into her kibble from time to time. :)

My opinion: everything in moderation...

Personal practice: I give my dogs the egg shells when Mark is not around to see me, but rarely give raw eggs themselves. I'm not worried about salmonella, but would not feed eggs daily due to the biotin issue.

I always try to think of it from a natural point of view. If your dog were out in the wild(any place in the world) How many eggs do you think they'd get and how often would they get them?

They wouldn't be able to get them every day and they'd only be able to get them for a short time during the year. Natural birds don't lay eggs all the time like chickens(who were bred to) do. It's only during the breeding season and it's only a few eggs.

I don't believe it's something they should get all the time on a regular basis - but it is something that provides some nice nutrients from time to time.
