eat it, all the kids are doing it...

Postby PitBull-Lady » Mon Aug 23, 2010 7:42 pm

well if you are lucky they are NOT!!!

Last week we had rain and magically all 3 dogs pooped in the house.
gross.

then since then Capone has found that pooing inside is awesome.
double gross

Tonight it happened again.
triple gross

but worse he's been eating it.
GROSS!!!!!

so what seemed like one incident has turned into a habit now.
BLECH!!!!!

any recommendations?

I am normally so observant of his movements and lately I have been trusting more of what he does as he is not eating every shoe, wallet, toy, towel, etc. So obviously I need to pay further attention, but my husabnd said he had pooped right before I got home, so I did not think twice about it, but now... the house still reeks and it's been over an hour!
ICK!

are there are threads you can recommend?
ok, pineapple ... but what else is there?

we sell a powder at work called forbid but I'm not exactly sure what's in it. Clients have had good success with it though!

Honestly, pineapple is all that worked for Liberty. She was a big fan (I do believe it was a throw-back of not being fed or watered properly before she came to me) and it took months and months to get her out of the habit. Watching her like a hawk and praising when she rejected the poop helped, but I still had to watch her like a hawk! I put pineapple in her food for a week and haven't had any problems since. Maybe not even a week, maybe just three or four times. And it never even crosses her mind now.

Ugh, no advice but I feel your pain. Everyday at work. It all started with one dog who liked to eat poop. Now, if you're a dog and you see another dog running up to something and eating it hurriedly, while a person runs up to said dog screaming "LEAVE IT LLEAAAVVEE IT" well of course it must be something reallly good so you should eat it too! Its a growing and contagious problem at my place of business. Make sure your others don't catch the habit!

I've had success with tomato juice in the food....we tried a product called deter - but it was expensive and only worked while she was on it - and of course it wasnt just her own poop she was eating it was the other dogs too so they all needed to have the pills as well...ugh.

thanks for all the input everyone!

Capone is a fruit-a-holic, so I think trying the pineapple first will work.
I'm thinking he just has a SEVERE urge to poop and then gets worried about doing it, b-u-t he could just like it (I shudder)

guess I'll go to Safeway tomorrow lol
thanks guys! :peace:
