Sunscreen question

Postby moto1320 » Fri Apr 16, 2004 10:59 am

What brand has everyone had the best luck with. I bought this stuff for kids because it wasn't supposed to hurt the eyes. It is very thick, but I'm having a hard time getting it to penetrate through the fur in all places. It seems like a liquid would be better over this thick lotion, but I don't want to turn them off to it by getting stinging eyes. Also, aerosol is out, Doc attacks the cans with a vengence. I found this out the hard way using duster on the keyboard.

I'm trying to avoid heading to the make up counter to drop the cash on Clinique, but it's the only one I've seen in a liquid that isn't mostly alcohol :) .

Have you looked into horse sunscreen? Some of them have bug repellent in them as well, as an added bonus.

lol Man, I just need to find a tack shop around here. It's been so many years since I've ridden that I can't remeber where they are.

I have very sensitve skin and an allergy to metal, the only sun screen I can use is PreSun. In this brand I can ONLY use the gel, purple and white label. I use it on my horses white noses and they don't have any problem with it. Since it's a gel it isn't goopy and absorbes real fast. Good luck.

Gel! Perfect! Is that over the counter or also a horse supply?

It's over the counter but you might have to look at a pharmacy..... that's where I get mine.
