Had the vet look at Isabeau's growth...

Isabeau is at the vet's right now for her surgery. I also found yet another small bump on her over the weekend. This one is kind of on her back/hip area. I'm not sure if it's really anything or not. When I dropped her off, I made it clear to the vet tech that if the vet thinks it needs to come off, take it off too. I'm really anxious today, even more so than I was 2 week ago with the first surgery. I can't keep my mind off of it.

You and Isabeau are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine how nervous I would be too. Fingers, toes and paws crossed for a good outcome.

I'm really irritated. Usually they do surgeries in the morning, then call after they're done to let you know how it went. Well, it's after 2pm, so I got sick of waiting and I just called up there. The lady who answered the phone said Isabeau's surgery had been done, but the vets are all at lunch, and I should call back after 3pm. Now, I don't mind if the vet doesn't have time to call, I understand they are busy...but at least have a tech call and let me know it went okay. How can you just go to lunch and not even bother to have someone take 30 seconds to call me??? After I got off the phone, I also realized how sad it is that they couldn't just have the vet call me when he comes back from lunch, instead of making me call back up there again. This vet hospital runs so much differently than the couple of hospitals I've worked for in the past. If money wasn't an object, I would be switching vets immediately. I'm done ranting now.

The vet removed both growths, with very wide margins. Isabeau has two HUGE incisions on her side, which are swollen. The vet said he made sure to go down very deep, all the way to muscle. It's obvious she bled a ton, because you can see where they tried to clean the blood out of her white coat, it's all over her back and side. Both growths are being sent out to the lab. I'll take pics later. Right now she's snoozing in her crate and I don't want to disturb her.

Awww, I'm sorry. Hopefully w/such big incisions, they were able to get everything they wanted, but poor baby.

Thanks everyone. Isabeau seems to be feeling okay today. She's sleeping next to me as I type.

Here is a picture of the tiny growth that I took on sunday (sorry for picture quality, was taken with my cell phone). It was originally a little larger, but not really red. A couple days after getting aspirated, it seemed to start shrinking, but stayed red. By the time surgery day came around, It was only about the size of a very small pea.



Here is a picture of Isabeau's incisions. I don't have a picture of the second growth the vet took off, since I wasn't even sure if it was anything. I can tell you it was actually a tiny bit smaller than the growth that was aspirated. So we're talking very very small growths here...

Big Margins = good surgeon in my opinion!! Wimpy surgeons drive me crazy... and I'm very sorry you weren't called. Its 1pm and I just finished my surgery, didn't get breakfast because I'm doing surgery AND ICU today, owner was called before I even thought about getting food.

WOW OUCH !!!!

I'm glad she seems to be taking this all in stride. Heal fast baby girl!!!

The vet called tonight with the histopathology results. The MCT that was aspirated was a grade 2, clean margins. The third growth to show up turned out to just be a cyst. So that's good news! She's healing up okay, goes in to get her incisions rechecked in a week. Hopefully, no new MCTs pop up for a loooong time now.
