Does anyone know if Sentinel is harmful dogs? Sentinel is indicated for the Prevention Of Heartworm Disease, For The Prevention And Control Of Flea Populations, The Control Of Hookworm And The Removal And Control Of Roundworm And Whipworm Infections. I was planning on ordering from www.petshed.com but now they don't carry it. I was wondering if they took it off because they're out of stock, or because it's harmful.

Sentinel is safe. I have never heard of a reaction.

The reason it is probably "on the shelf" is because it controls fleas via "birth control"..in otherwords, it does not kill adult fleas but keeps them from reproducing. Most of the other popular flea products are adulticides and some even also kill larva.

Also, more people want the products that kill ticks or mosquitos...that is probably why it is avail.

If you are just looking for heartworm and intestinal parasite control, it is fine and safe.
