My sister just called me and said "we just got him pre-medicated" and asked if she could microchip him.
I said of course. I've been meaning to do that anyway!

He hasn't been anesthetized since he was 4 mo. old and was neutered.

The vet is sending off 1 of the tumors. The one from his tail. The other 2 he is sending home with me in a preservative, and if we need to send them off later we will.

I told him to send all three if he felt necessary, and he said he'd call me if he changed his mind after digging in there.

I am so worried. I'll keep you guys updated.

How long before we have results MissKiwi? 1 week? 10 days?

I can pick him up after work at 4:30. I will probably get there about 5.
I bought him a new dog bed and crack bone. :)

He is home. He is so uncomfortable and pathetic :( .

He is crying, and can't get situated.
He peed outside for almost 5 minutes. There are three places on him shaved, and stitched, and about _______________________________________ long a piece. I will get pictures once he is resting comfortably.

My poor baby

Awww. The first evening back after surgery is extra-rough, since they are still dealing with the anesthetic, plus the stress of the day. Mentally and physically they always seem exhausted and uncomfortable. Hopefully in the morning he will have slept well all night and be feeling better and back to normal--- and hopefully those biopsy results are benign!

If they get sent to the lab on Thursday or Friday, you won't have results until next week. They should have told you when they usually get lab results back, but if the shipping and timing is anything like here, I'd say Wednesday seems like an appropriate guess, or maybe earlier.

Sending healing thoughts! I know how upsetting it is to see them post-op. Urggghhh....

He wagged his tail at me this morning, but isn't ready to get up and go outside just yet. He usually sleeps in anyway I suppose. He slept on his dog bed next to my side of the bed all night, and I made sure he was covered with a sheet bc he gets so cold so easily.

My little boy. I hope he will be ok with Dad while Im at work today.

Koda seems preoccupied with her new crack bone and dog bed so Im hoping she will not try to initiate play while he is resting.

It will take 5-10 days to get histopathology results back. It takes 3 days for the lab to prepare the samples to be read, and the rest of the time just depends on how backed up the pathologist is.

Its very normal for him to be disoriented and lethargic, even a little nautious just from the anesthesia alone. He may or may not eat today, but he should be normal or almost normal by tomorrow. The puppies always seems to bounce right out of it, but the older dogs almost always need a day of TLC the day after surgery, even when its a routine dental and there's nothing painful.

x2!

Cody just got a dental done and he was out of it for awhile. For the rest of the night and for the morning the next day. Now he's completely fine.
