Roscoe's home from his knee surgery

Postby dogs4jen » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:16 pm

Roscoe had his knee surgery this morning, and is back home. He's doing fine so far. I'm glad to have it done with so he can start recovering. I was nervous about his bloodwork since he's been on meloxicam for a year and a half, I think it is now, but the only thing off is that he's a bit anemic. I think it's time for me to go have a

Yay! What kind did he have? That's great that you got him back the same day!
I''ll be following his recovery as Blu will likely have knee surgery this summer and I'm terribly nervous over it.

Thanks everybody! He's doing fine, except for not being happy about having to sleep in his crate instead of with us. I think we might carry him up with us tonight so that we can get some sleep. The blow-up donut thing is not working too great, he can still lick his leg. I don't think he's done it much though, fortunately. I am going to go see if I can find those anti-lick strips and see if that helps.

Sorry, IloveBleu, I forgot to answer your question. He had the traditional knee job. He's not a big dog, 46-48 pounds, and it was also a lot less expensive than say a TPLO, so I thought it would be all right for him.
