So, I just moved to my parents' house after taking a new job and not finding a place to live yet (stupid BSL) in the area. Good news is, they have a HUGE yard (couple acres) and Greta has been doing more zoomies than she ever dreamed of. However, I've noticed that when she's running fairly fast, both her back legs come off the ground at the same time. This doesn't happen when she's just trotting around.

I am pretty paranoid about her legs since she partially tore a CCL around a year ago (healed on it's own, under a vet's watch). But I don't know if this is something she has always done (living in town, she never got much chance to really RUN, just jog a little, and then I was next to her on the leash, not behind her watching the legs) or if I'm just noticing it more because she gets to run more. I've included photos for reference. Please excuse the poor photo quality; I was just trying to get a quick running shot and she was zooming in and out of the bright sun/shade.

Yes that's how dogs run, as does most other animals once they hit a lope/canter type of run.

Dakota has sort of a bouncyish gate when he's between a canter and a trot.

phew! thanks, I was waivering back and forth between "you're just being paranoid, that's how dogs run" and "omg her legs are about to fall off!"

Helpful drawing tm, but could have done without the snark. Last I checked, this is a forum where people can come to ask questions about their dogs, and when others start acting like they're stupid questions, people will stop asking.
