She started to lick her one of her toes on Saturday night and given the allergy panel results that just came back I thought it was related and mainly itchiness, but took her to vet on Sunday anyway. She got Cephalexin and Muricin to apply on the area, and yesterday she came along with me to seminar I had to attend, so that I could keep my eye on her. This morning it looks much worse, and the vet seems to think that something ended up under her toe, on the nail bed, and has caused an infection. She is now on two antibiotics, Ciprofloxacin and Clindamycin, but I am quite worried about the way the area looks. The vet recommended to keep her foot wrapped, with the ointment on, even if there will be moisture, and take it off when I can watch her closely. She is running around like her usual self, and can put weight on it so far. She did yelp once, when I cleaned the spot, which is unusual for her.

It looks painful, poor dog.

She is not fond of the boot I have put on her either, and try to get it off, so she has to be kept busy and wearing a cone. I am going to have to use a plastic cone for the night, as I can't take chances that she get to it with her mouth, using the soft cones.
