that is where friend's dogs had to have amputations and they don't seem to miss the toes at all since they healed(not that I am trying to downgrade this terrible news, but trying to boost you up a little)

Thank you very much for asking, Nichole. I think you are on my FB page as a friend, and maybe read my latest "ranting". I appreciate each one of you who took a moment to say a word about my Ice or offer support for Sneaky's latest issues. It is "only" words but they can help someone in my position, and words can be powerful.I can't deny that I am having a hard time and I am grateful to be able to share things with those of you who are being so understanding.

Sneaky cannot come home yet, the vet had to take a larger portion of the lesion than he thought, this morning, including the nail. She will be there for at least 3 days because they need to monitor the area and see if a healing process can start. We are hoping that the dermatologist Dr they sent the biopsy to can give us an answer before Friday.They are very kind to her there, and I know that they will do all they can. I filed a complaint to the California Veterinary Medical Board toward the facility that saw Ice last, and will post details when my brain's neurons are all working properly, since I think that it is important for people to know what they can do when their pets or their owners are treated in an way that is just not acceptable.Excuse the extra info, I just had to let it out.

The house is so quiet without Ice rooeing and Sneaky bouncing around non stop. Dawn, the vet tech, said she is behaving beautifully and tomorrow I will update on her condition. Thanks again.

Missing an eye and a toe? You are going to have the baddest looking dog on the block! Maybe she wants a hook for a paw.

All kidding aside, we saw a Standard Poodle at one of my clinics that had sarcomas in multiple toes on various feet. By the time we were done amputating, she looked like she had cloven hooves, but she did really well. It didn't seem to bother her much beyond the initial surgery recovery.
