Since Bootleg came from a guy who abandoned her at my vet's office after he found out her uterus had ruptured, there were a lot of things that I didn't know about her. I have spent a lot of time there during this illness and have found out some things about her life before me. Such as that when she was brought in for a radical c-section her abdomen was so big that it hung over both sides of the exam table. And that all the vet techs gathered to pick ticks off of her while she was out. And that there were 14 puppies in there. And that she was born on January 17, 2008. All of those things make me really glad that we got to know and love each other and she now knows what it is like to sleep on a soft bed, inside, with someone who appreciates her.
Thank you all for the love and the well wishes. I am pretty much an "expect the worst, hope for the best" kind of person so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. The blessing in all of this is that the little bitch doesn't know she's sick. She's running around, throwing King in the air to herself. Please God let her never know she's sick.
