Tramadol is a narcotic that works relatively quickly and lasts from 8-12 hours.

What a strange episode but I hope they continue to recover so that you can go on your trip!

I am also hopeful they won't have to do that joint aspiration on Violet on Wednesday. That carried a hefty price tag and I'd really rather not do anything invasive if it can be avoided. If she's the same or worse, then yes we'll do it. If not, no way.

ftr You just had them out in the country abotu a week ago at your Dad;s place and those deer ticks are barely visable to the naked eye, are these ticks in that area?

it is technically possible but they are unlikely culprits in this area. Can't be 100% though. Unlikely doesn't = impossible. The country adventure was a week ago last Saturday.

I don't have a ton of time to go over all this (I am juuuust about out the door for St Louis - yes that's right, I'm going!)

The vet appt went GREAT! The vet said if she didn't know about Sadie's ordeal yesterday she never would have known she was a sick dog yesterday. But she made some comments about the bloodwork that made me question the ER vet who said everything came back fine. Specifically the pancreas enzymes for Violet and the reactive lymphocytes for both.

So I called the ER vet and asked for a faxed copy of their bloodwork. I scanned them in just now. here they are in their full sized glory (so you can see the tiny hand writing)
