She had more beef last night but she threw that up
I spoke to the vet today and he has a special preparation that David is going to pick up that has an appetite stimulant in it.

I used chinese herbs given through a holistic vet for my cat in kidney failure and she lived almost 2 years after diagnosis which shocked everyone considering she was 19 at the time (she died 1 week before her 21st birthday). The herbs, in part, helped cleanse her body of the toxins (which will of course cause all the issues with nausea and lack of appetite).

Thanks you guys, I appreciate the support. She is doing OK, eating, no more weight on but none off. I really feel her old age setting in, lots of little accidents and she is kind of confused sometimes. Like just now I was getting her food in the kitchen and was calling her, and she went to look for me in the bedroom, when I went up behind her and touched her she jumped, but wagged her tail. Or yesterday we were playing in the garden and I went to sit on the deck after a while to let her sniff around. After a while I could see she was looking for me so I called her and she was looking for me under chairs and behind the bamboo. :_
Poor girly. But she is still happy to have hugs and play and hang out.

It is so hard when they get old. I am glad she is eating and glad no more weight has come off.

We are having a crap day today, D rang me up at lunch when he popped in to feed her, to say she had a lump on her snout. I rang the vet and we don't have an appt til tomorrow night. Now I'm home and I think it might be an infected tear duct because it is right by her eye and her eye is a tiny bit manky. I can tell it's hurting her, she looks sad.

And now I don't have reception on my phone in our stupid village and I need to call D to ask where he put the eye medicine and I'm sure he's at the pub grrrrrrrr.

I did buy 3 kilos of minced beef and pork today and I'm letting her eat out of her bowl on the sofa. She seems to be liking that.

Do you think she'd let you hold a warm cloth on her bump? Maybe that would just help it clear up. It would probably make you feel better that you are doing something? Xena is a lucky soul to have such a devoted person like you Kate to take care of her.

Thank you, that is sweet. I gave it a go but she wasn't too cooperative. We'll see with the vet tomorrow.

My dogs don't generally like things held on their eyes either. =(
I'm glad you got her an appointment for tomorrow.
