I think that is what I needed to hear, thank you. I keep asking myself if we're being selfish keeping her going now, but then I think that any bit of joy that she shows from cuddles or seeing people, well I want her to have as much of that as she can. I hope I will know with certainty when it's time.

She was bad last night, but then had a big sleep under the covers with her daddy. Now she had the energy paste thing and I fed her a jar of baby food with a spoon and she seems more alert now. I'm going to make her some ground beef with a tiny bit of sweet potato mashed in, she seemed to like that the last time I gave it to her.

I just ran into my SIL at the supermarket and started cyring while talking to her in front of all the Christmas Eve shoppers and now I've started I can't stop.

Anyway, thank you all for your support, it really helps to have contact with people who understand.

Dear Kate you, David, Xena and Kheops are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry Xena is ill. I'm glad you have time to cuddle and snuggle.

When a dog can no longer be a dog, it's time. You'll know when it's time.
Thank you for loving her so much.

Thank you, I know.

She has taken a turn for the worse and it looks like Thursday will be the day. D is taking the next two days off to spend with her and I will take Thursday off so we are both there together. We are so heartbroken.

I try to tell myself that if we hadn't taken her in she would probably have died 11 years ago but it's not really helping.

This was probably posted somewhere else and I'm sure it won't make you feel any better now, but this is something that may help you look back and smile later.

Thanks guys, we have made a rule not to cry or act upset around our Xena-nan-soo. We don't want her to be more distressed than she already is so we're telling stupid jokes to each other to keep upbeat.

I wish we could do the things in that article but I think we will be limited to having her lie in her beloved garden on a nice pillow all wrapped up, so please send us sunny weather vibes.
