I just saw this and I am thinking of you both. I cannot believe they are being so hands-off because they are so fearful of him. I really hope he gets the care he deserves and needs and they find a prognosis soon. I am thinking of you, I know it has been such a hard past year for you and this is just so heartbreaking so go through so soon after that. I am hoping they find the problem quickly and Tux is on the mend soon.

I'm so sorry that Tux is being treated this way. I hope that you are able to find a place that is capable of providing him with the special care he needs while also being able to handle his current health issues - I know that can be difficult sometimes though. Continuing to send lots of positive healing thoughts.

Val, I don't know how reactive Tux is but here is a link to the vet we use. They are knowledgeable with our breed and the help is not scared. Perhaps at the very least you could talk to them.

My heart is with Tux, you and your husband. :pray

When I went to pick him up Saturday, he was loose in the ICU area, after getting out of the metal crate and taking off his muzzle. They would not touch him, and yet when it was time to take him to me for the release, the vet tech walked him on a leash with the muzzle hanging on his neck. Tux did not bother her at all, just wanted out of there.

This morning I called after he vomited twice, wanting to bring him in. I think I actually sort of beg the Dr. who saw Tux yesterday to try to work something out so that he can get care, even if I have to stay there the whole time and "pop in" to handle him when needed. He still has a guarded prognosis and they don't know why he is not eating, and it is made obvious that they don't want him there. At the same time I am told is that he is a severe case, so you can imagine how hard this is.

I had to leave him because I don't want him to die without a fight. That is pretty much it. Dogs like Tux always get the short end of the stick, for one reasons or the other.

Tomorrow, the same Dr. who tried to help Tigger will take care of Tux, very nice woman and knowledgeable doctor, so I am hoping for a straight talk about my scared boy. He is not going to spend his last days, if it comes down to it, alone in a vet clinic where he is not wanted.

I am so sorry… What a nightmare. It is so hard for a fearful dog to be at the vets but it sounds like they are not helping him much if they are so afraid of him. Poor Tux… and poor you.

I hope he is doing better and that the other Dr. can help him so that you can take him home and nurse him there.

You are right, dogs like this do get short changed, my old Cleo hated the vets and did not like strangers, it is a hard thing to deal with when your dog is ill.

How is he doing today? Hoping for some good news. If nothing else, a clinic that's skilled and comfortable enough to provide him with medical care.
