I picked some up today. I hope my 3 does well on it.
Yay I'm a big fan of this stuff. I actually picked up a bag of their (non grain free) cat food for my parents today, because they asked me to find a food to replace the Diamond Naturals they have been feeding (at my suggestion). I love their UPCs for Trees program, and my local store just introduced their Frequent Buyer cards, so you can buy 10 of the same size bags and get the 11th free. I wish I would have known about it a long time ago when I switched my girls from TOTW. My dogs love it and do fantastic on it. Their poop is tiny and hard. I put my pug on it cold turkey when we got him, because he didn't come with his Blue Buff, and it had no ill side effects. I do know every dog is different. I'm excited to get my cats on it and see how they do.
I'm going to be an entirely Earthborn Holistic grain free household, except the Akita, who I am switching to Fromm low activity/senior from the Diamond Naturals. The Fromm is a fairly significant price jump, but I can't find something similar that is comparable in price. That's ok. I have stuck with Diamond through a few recalls... the big one in 2006 had to do with corn mold, and none of my food had corn. A few varieties were involved in the 2007 Menu Foods recall, but so were Nutro and Blue Buff, etc. Nothing I've ever fed was affected until now, but that's not even why I'm switching. I'm just sick of defending my choice to feed food manufactured by Diamond and then getting slapped in the face with it. Not two days before this recall was announced, I was defending my choice to a wholesaler I'd contacted regarding prices... and he got to send me links to the recall "just in case" I didn't know and was affected. It's not worth it, especially when I can find something else affordable that I'm happy with!
