I like to give wild Alaska salmon oil over fish oil and it really has helped my old dog's skin.
I buy it from this trapping place for $27.95 a gallon and their salmon oil is very high quality --http://dakotalinesnares.com/store/index ... ath=30_110
Their shipping cost is a flat $10, and I had been buying 2 of the 32 oz size but found it was only a few dollars more to buy a gallon with the shipping cost being the same. The gallon came in as 8 small bottles so it is easy to store and stays fresher that way. I store it in the fridge when opened.
Here is a good article about the Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids --http://ottawavalleydogwhisperer.blogspo ... -dogs.html
If you scroll about halfway down the page, they talk about "fish oils" and why some of them are not as high quality, such as fish oil from farm raised fish...
I also give my dog coconut oil for her skin too, with that and the salmon oil, her skin is much better than it was.
