any ideas??

my 4 month old pit is awesome, but he has too much energy. I play with him as much as i can but i just cant seem to tire him out. when he plays with his puppy friends he outlasts them easily. so i was wondering if anyone had any toys or things around that he could use to exert some of this energy on his own. so he could be excersising even when im not around. anything that burns a lot of energy that he can use on his own?

maybe try a spring pole or a kong toy...

Do NOT put your dog a spring pole when your not around.

You could play (or teach him to) fetch.

What I do is get 10 tennis balls and stuff my pockets with them (or get a bucket if I'm at home). Throw one, when he returns, throw the other, when he returns, well, you get the point.

I do this rapidly and use short distances to seriously exercise my dogs.

Another way to work your dogs energy out is to have him swim. Swimming works like a charm. This is one you'll have to watch though as they can get tired fast.

As for burning off energy while your not around, I can't help you there. There really isn't anything I can think of where a dog can exercise safely while your not around.
