waaaayyy back when, when Dalmatians where used for guard work, their ears where often cropped. The practice died out with the breed when they became more of a pet/show dog.

...there is a pic of a dog named B&Bs Gr Ch Rene, and she has half-prick ears.

Oops. Forgot to address the meat of this subject. If every dog I have from here on out has rose ears, I would be happy as a Pit Bull with a pigear. (Admit it, that's cuter than saying "happier than a pig in poop.") She has no problems whatsoever with her ears, and even when I go to clean them, they're usually already very clean. I would crop full-drop ears, though. They can be a pain to keep clear of nasty buildup.
