Old tires?

what are some good places to pick up old tires?
bike, car, motorcycle?
which would be the best to make a spring pole out of

and i remember someone saying to use a motorcycle tire at age 1 and have the pup drag it around for weight pull training..

Junk yard is a good place to look. For the spring pole I prefer airplane tires. Small enough to grab but not so small they can puncture them.

You can use car tires for pulling along with Motorcycle tires. Depends on how far you want them to pull the tire. For longer distances use smaller tires.

The junkyard is usually good, might try one of the tire repair shops, I don't know what they usually do with their non-repairables. One thing though is that most modern car tires have metal bands in them that can hurt a dog's mouth if they chew on them, I think old old tires don't, not sure about tires for other things. I guess you could always check them by cutting in a bit first if you plan on letting the dog play with them.

i do not post much here or anywhere for that matter, but old tires brought back a memory from about three years ago. i had a few old tires for my boy to play with, chew on, drag around by his mouth etc. well one day he was out on his cable runner (i had no fence at that time) and i was in the house. he was out for a few hours and when it got dark i brought him in. well the next morning i went out and noticed my car was sitting rather low on one side. i had apparently parked too close to his area and he chewed a huge hole in my tire! he still LOVES tires to play with, i just watch him around cars.

ATV tires work well for both chew toys and on the spring pole.

Around here old tires are always found behind Taco Bell.

Go to a bicycle repair shop. You can find a very wide variety of sizes, they have them by the bucket, and they are clean.
