my 33lb girl was less then 4lbs at 8 weeks..and i think less then 3 at 6 weeks.. no one though she was going to make it tho...

but idk how anyone can really tell.. you can look at the dogs parents..and what not..

and just my little soap box.. 6 weeks is way 2 early to be away from his/her mom.

that pup needs to be back with his mom and sibblings until he is at least 8 weeks old
it is illegal in this state to have a pup that young

Just because he can eat food doesn't mean he should be away from his mother and siblings. Pups learn a lot of important social skills (bite inhibition is a major one) from them between the ages of 5 and 8 weeks. We took Bella at 6 1/2 weeks (before we knew that was wrong), and it was extremely difficult breaking her of her mouthy behavior.

The best indication for size would be to look at the parents.

I have found that most people believe that 6 weeks is the age at which a puppy or kitten can leave their mother. In fact, I am guilty of adopting kittens as young as 5 weeks old (in the past) before I knew any better. I did not realize how much the animals benefit from continued interraction from their canine families. A responsible breeder should adopt out puppies at 8 weeks at the earliest. If it all possible, you may want to consider taking the puppy back for 2 weeks-- if this is not an option, then the next time you decide to get a dog, be sure that the breeder will not release the puppy until a more appropriate age (among other things).

Wow. She is HUGE! lol My boy is 2 years old, he weighs 48lbs. My girl is a moose, obviously not pure-bred, though supposedly she is, I didn't get her papers, since I wasn't planning on showing. She is 13 months, 65 pounds.

From what I read on here, Pit Bulls do not stop growing until they are about 2 years old. Also, they start filling out at about 10 months old. Logan just turned 8 months old and is a little over 50 pounds. The vet said he may reach between 60 and 65 pounds which is perfect. I don't want a Pit Bull that is too big.
