Digestive Enzyme?

Postby Hondovious » Thu Sep 23, 2004 1:25 pm

Does anyone use a digestive enzyme with their dog's food? I gave my dog some raw frozen beef bones the past couple weeks and both times it was the equivalent of bad mexican food. He could not seem to hold it during the day and his poop was very loose and soft. The pet store recommended using a digestive enzyme to help. I think what they gave me a sample of is called Prozyme.

It is common for vets to suggest something like this, check out the following article.

Or you could supplement with plain yogurt.

Poos will return to normal after a while of feeding meat. We have gone through it.... Diet change is a bother! We have also started feeding plane yogurt a few times a week, but for general health reasons, not in response to loose stools....

Jarro-Dophilus from Jarrow formulas is good stuff. Just make sure it has been shipped and shelved in a refrigerator. It's good for pets and people.
