He'll do great! My boy was neutered at 6 months, and I love the way he looks now!

I don't like it when they're neutered too old... they get a big flappy skin hanging down there, unless you do extra surgery to remove it...

give me a week and I'll show you, i'm doing some rigorous conditioning for an upcoming ADBA show. No impact here, and I got lucky enough for the skin to not hang, so no flapping down either.

I prefer to keep my boy very lean but he's very agile, he can climb, hike, swim, hunt, weight pull, and we run agility.

He might not be as beefy as some dogs but IMO he does great for what I ask of him, he's strong as hell in a true sense hes an amazing hiking buddy.

This boy was neutered when I got him, I got him at 5 1/2 months I am told he was neutered 4 months or even prior.

I have read studies it effects the bone growth, which could be the blame for many taller neutered males, such as mine. But I don't believe it hinders muscle mass.

He looks great! I love that lean muscle. Tyson is already on the taller side.. So lets see what happens.

Our Petey (RIP) was very lankey and lean....not alot of muscle but we had him snipped at 2 months.
Most of my pix of him are on our other computer or I'd post some.

Well, its a bit late for that now lol

He'll be fine, I'm sure. If you do alot of activities with him to build his muscle up he'll look great no matter what.

This is a great thread! I think it is important for people to see it doesn't hurt to get a male dog neutered young. Logan was fixed at 6 months and he is solid as heck. Definitely what a Pit Bull should look like.

Agree.

Maryellen he looks great.. What is he mixed with? You know what ive noticed about pitbull mixes, all the ones ive seen atleast look so much more pitbull instead of what there mixed with. Mine is pit/lab.
