Strawberries?

Postby Pete » Sat Jun 02, 2007 10:15 pm

Is there any harm if your dog helps you down a container of strawberries? Norris loves them and I cant think of any reason not to let him eat em. They seem like a healthy snack. Anyone know anything I may not?

I don't know, but have you tried the Search button, or looked in the Health section?

This should be in the Health section.

Yah, Norris has been eating alot of em. I just figured Id ask. My friend always gave her dog whole apples, and he was fine. Then I read on here they are pretty much toxic....so, I figured Id check on strawberries.

Jack eats strawberries, blueberries, banana, canteloupe, apple (not whole though, the seeds have arsenic in them).

Actually I don't think I've ever seen him turn food away, he has a very healthy appetite. Or maybe he just likes gourmet. lol

Strawberries are listed as a nontoxic food item on the ASPCA's site:

http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pa ... oxicplants

Sorry ... just keep seeing folks asking what that site answers, lol.
