help... blood

Postby zifosgirl » Tue Jun 12, 2007 12:42 am

ok, i have a 2 month old apbt, and he's been eating science diet (thats what vet gave us, i do plan on switching), but recently he's been having bowel movements with blood in it. not alot but noticable. It maybe started 2 days ago, we've had him for about 3 weeks now. here's whats weird... he'll make 2 bowel movements in a row... first 1 is normal, no blood, 2nd one seems.... forced?, he struggles and its diahrrea with blood at the end.? he's not lathargic, he's still eating, peeing, playing normally, no change, just the blood? Any one have any problem like this or knows what's going on?

Not a good sign...especially in such a young dog. I would take your pup to the vet next time they're open.

I plan too, don't worry. I was just seeing if it could wait till friday, cause thats pay day and right now i'm broke. I've been checking the internet, could it possibly be hookworms? Cause he's perfectly normal, its just the blood. if no one saw his stool, you'd think he's fine.

yes it could very possibly be hook worms, that is the typical sypmtoms (but could also be a gazillion other things too)

Yep, could be any number of parasites. If he's still eating and not vomiting at least it's probably not parvo.
