Snorts like a pig!

Postby klandmk » Wed Jul 11, 2007 8:43 am

Hi!
My Mariah is 6 months old and she snorts like a pig! Usually first thing getting up in the morning. I also notice that her breathing is REALLY rapid when we get home from walks.
She has been on heartworm preventative.....is something wrong w/ her?

Koal also snorts like a pig at various times. Sometimes while hes asleep and dreaming, normally then his legs are going 1,000 miles an hour.

He also does it when hes rolling around on the floor wrestling with his imaginary friend.

As for the heavy breathing, if its very hot out she might be overheated. Koal always breaths heavy for 10 minutes after a good romp outside with the frisbees.

I dont know what others will say in their replies, they might have more insight for you. However, if it is a large concern you can always call your vet and ask them what they think.

Whew - glad to know someone else's baby snorts! As I have said in my other posts.....she may be a "typical" bully but she is very different from the other dogs I've had.
Which makes her all the more endearing..... :inlove:

Gracie is a snorty pup, too, although I think part of it is due to her cleft pallette. She sounds like a freight train during and after a run. roflmao

But quite a few of our friends bullies snort, too, I doubt there is anything wrong with your pup.

Redhead snorts when he is excited and having fun. He makes a similar noise when swallowing saliva from hard exercise.

Thanks everyone!
BTW - Cocoa puff and Mariah both have the ears & the snort - maybe they were separated at birth. :)
